Staff Attorney Position With Primary Focus on Immigrants Rights

The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Southern California seeks an attorney with a minimum of four years litigation experience to litigate and supervise civil liberties/civil rights actions. The attorney will bring individual, class and taxpayer actions on these issues raising constitutional and civil rights claims, and will be asked to litigate in immigration court, state court, and federal court, at both the trial and appellate levels, through direct representation and the filing of amicus briefs.

In addition, the attorney will supervise the work of cooperating attorneys handling these areas of litigation for the ACLU Foundation of Southern California.

Experience with and interest in immigrants' rights cases is a requirement, as the primary but not exclusive focus of the job will be immigrants' rights cases. Experience with and interest in civil rights and civil liberties cases generally is a plus.

Being bi-lingual, particularly English-Spanish, is a substantial plus.
